HOUSE SPRINGS   •   The owner of Raetta Quick Stop this morning held at gunpoint a man who robbed his store until Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to arrest the robber, the sheriff’s office said.

That suspect, 26-year-old Gerald Brown of Morse Mill, was charged this afternoon in Jefferson County Circuit Court with armed criminal action and first-degree robbery.

Brown was also charged with theft of a gun, but details about that charge were not immediately available.

Brown, of the 10000 block of Morse Mill Road, allegedly showed a handgun to the clerk of the convenience store at 4780 Raetta Lane about 9:45 a.m. and left with $7, according to the sheriff’s office.

The owner of the store got a handgun and went outside, where he “held” the robber for about a minute until the deputies arrived. Deputies recovered the robber’s money and weapon at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

No one was hurt.
